VOLT is a music distribution platform operated by the Victorian Endowment for the Advancement of Electronic Arts Inc. (VEAEA), a registered Australian charity (ABN 24 619 030 300) with DGR endorsement.

VOLT's purpose is to provide Victorian and Australian electronic music artists with a direct, equitable channel for distributing and monetising their music, while connecting fans directly with the artists and community they support.

By creating an account on VOLT (whether as a fan or artist), you agree to these Terms and Conditions in full.

All VOLT account holders automatically become Associate Members of VEAEA at no cost. Associate Membership is a free tier of VEAEA membership that entitles you to:

• Participate in VEAEA community events and programs
• Priority access to Victorian Music Friday (VMF) releases and events
• Voting rights on eligible VEAEA community resolutions (where applicable)
• Receive VEAEA communications and program updates

Associate Membership is governed by VEAEA's Constitution. By creating an account you agree to the VEAEA Constitution and the VEAEA Code of Conduct, both available at veaea.org.

Membership does not create any ownership interest in VEAEA or its assets.

Eligibility. You must be at least 13 years of age to create a fan account. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has consented to these Terms.

Purchases. All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) inclusive of GST where applicable. Purchases are final unless a technical fault prevented delivery of your downloads, in which case contact info@veaea.org.

Downloads. Upon completing a purchase you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to download and listen to the purchased tracks for personal use. Downloads are DRM-free. Each format (WAV, FLAC, MP3) may be downloaded up to 5 times within 90 days of purchase. Re-download limits may be extended at VEAEA's discretion on request.

Permitted use. Downloaded tracks may be used for personal listening only. You may not redistribute, resell, publicly perform, broadcast, synchronise, or use tracks in derivative works without the express written consent of the rights holder (the artist).

Wallet. The VOLT Wallet holds AUD credit for use on purchases. Wallet funds have no expiry and are refundable on request subject to verification. Wallet credit is non-transferable between accounts. Bonus credit earned through top-up tiers is not refundable but is otherwise equivalent to standard wallet credit.

Eligibility and approval. Artist accounts are subject to approval by VEAEA. You must hold distribution rights to all content you upload. VEAEA reserves the right to approve or decline artist applications at its discretion.

Content licence. By uploading content to VOLT you grant VEAEA a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, reproduce, transcode, and distribute your content to buyers via the VOLT platform and associated VEAEA services. You retain full copyright and ownership of your content. This licence does not grant VEAEA rights to sublicense your content to third parties outside the VEAEA ecosystem without your consent.

Kōfun / VEAEA Music Server. By uploading to VOLT you also authorise VEAEA to automatically sync your content to the Kōfun platform and the VEAEA Music Server, where applicable and subject to Kōfun availability in your region. This auto-sync enables your music to be discoverable and playable across the VEAEA ecosystem. You may opt out of Kōfun/VEAEA Music Server sync at any time via your artist dashboard settings.

Revenue split. VEAEA retains 5% of each sale as a platform fee. The remaining 95% is paid to you. On Victorian Music Fridays (every Friday, Melbourne AEST/AEDT), VEAEA waives its 5% cut entirely — 100% of sale proceeds go to the artist. The platform fee is calculated on the gross sale price before any processing fees.

Processing fees. Card payments incur a pass-through processing fee (currently 2.5% + $0.35 AUD) disclosed at checkout. Wallet purchases incur no additional fee.

Payouts. VEAEA generates monthly artist payouts for all completed sales in the preceding calendar month. Payouts require a minimum threshold of $20 AUD net and are made by bank transfer to the BSB/account number registered in your artist profile. You are responsible for keeping your bank details current. VEAEA is not liable for delays arising from incorrect bank details.

Content standards. You represent and warrant that: (a) you own or control all rights to the content you upload; (b) the content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights; (c) the content does not contain unlawful material; and (d) you have obtained all necessary licences, including APRA AMCOS mechanical licences where applicable. You are solely responsible for registering your works with APRA AMCOS or equivalent collecting societies and for any royalty obligations arising from sales.

Takedowns. VEAEA may remove content that violates these Terms, applicable law, or VEAEA's content policies without prior notice. VEAEA will notify you of any removal and provide an opportunity to respond. VEAEA will reinstate content if a valid counter-notice is received.

The artist booking feature connects promoters, bookers, and event organisers with VOLT artists for live performances, DJ engagements, collaborations, and other events. VEAEA acts solely as a messaging intermediary and is not a party to any agreement reached between booker and artist. VEAEA does not charge a booking commission and takes no responsibility for the terms of any engagement entered into between parties.

Booking inquiries are forwarded to the relevant artist and to VEAEA. Providing false or misleading information in a booking inquiry is grounds for account suspension.

Account holders may donate wallet credit directly to VEAEA. Donations are processed as contributions to VEAEA's general charitable fund and are recorded in VEAEA's ATO-compliant financial ledger. A DGR-compliant receipt bearing the sequential receipt number is emailed to the donor upon completion. Donations are not refundable once processed.

VEAEA is a DGR-endorsed charity. Donations of $2 or more may be claimed as a tax deduction in your Australian tax return. This is not financial advice — consult a registered tax agent for guidance on your circumstances.

VEAEA collects and processes personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Information collected at account creation (name, email, password hash) is used for account operation, purchase delivery, artist payouts, and VEAEA membership administration.

VEAEA does not sell personal data to third parties. Payment processing is handled by eWAY (Eway Rapid); VEAEA does not store full card numbers. Email is processed via IONOS mail infrastructure.

VOLT is provided "as is". VEAEA gives no warranty that the platform will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by law, VEAEA's liability for any claim arising from use of VOLT is limited to the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, including consumer guarantees.

VEAEA may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email to registered account holders at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of VOLT after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any dispute arising from these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
